Could my 4 year old be sleep walking?

Question:
He sleeps in his own room and for the last month he has started getting up and coming in our room every night around the same time. Sometimes he queitly comes in our room and gets in our bed without saying anything. Other times we wake up to him crying in his room and go in there to find him standing there holding a toy. Sometimes he seems scared and sometimes not. But he ALWAYS seems to be in a daze like he is not fully awake and will not speak one word to us no matter how hard we try to talk to him. It's like he doesn't really know what is happening. What could be going on?

Answers:
Sure. Any age person can sleep-walk. It's basically that their mind isn't completely asleep per se. so they actually move around in the "awake world" while their mind is working in the "dream world".

My best advice would be to take your child to a sleep specialist to see if there is something you can do to help (whether it be food, supplements, or whatnot). Hopefully, you find a sleep specialist that knows enough about natural things that he won't just jump to drugs to help.
He is sleep walking. Many kids do this. My brother did it but only once. He sleep walked down the stairs and sat right in front of the TV. My parents calmly walked him back to his bed and he never knew a thing.
what ever you do,! do not wake him up while hes sleepwalking! this has been known to put people in shock!
he's sleepwalking. If it concerns you then consider taking him to the doctor just to make sure thats whats going on. =)
Yea he is my cousin would sleep walk then her mom and step dad would take her back and she did int even no about it so yea he is dont worry &&&i love your name army wives ahh i love that show!
My girl 10 and boy 5 both do this. It is sleep walking. I wouldn't worry much unless he makes it out side. Add a large door bolt at the top edge of doors. Do not scare him. Talk soft and sweet to him. If it persist take him to the doctor for a sleep study.
Sad to say but yes this is a definite possibility. as the previous answerer said many children do this. My advise is to just let him share your bed whenever he sleepwalks into your room, however I have no qualifications to give advise on this matter except from my own experiences. I, myself have a life history of sleepwalking that started when I was pre school age and persist until present. I am in my late sixties now. I would strongly advise consulting some professional on this matter.
Listen one of my boys would get up make a bowl of cereal and go back to bed and snore all the way through it. One daughter would get up and turn on the TV with no volume and sleep on the couch. Neither one acted as though the were aware they did this.
They don't do it anymore and it usually doesn't last that long . Make sure there isn't stuff left out that might hurt him. Safety locks on drawers and doors.
So long as he is coming to you it sounds safe enough. Wouldn't let that even start becoming a habit though. Good luck.
God Bless!
