Am I just paranoid about the whole thing or did the doctor/nurse think I was lying?
Question:
I went to the emergency room; later to find out I had appendicitis, I understood the routine questions, "Are you on any medication?", "Any allergies?", things like that. The first time he asked me, mind you in front of the people above; "Have you perform any sexual activity?" I clearly, unhesitatingly said no. They finish the questions. About 30 mins later after they prep me, again same question, I gave them the same answer the same way. About whole another hour; This hospital was packed, another Dr., female this time, asked me the same question, I had gotten frustrated this time because I'm in pain the the only thing you have to ask me is that; so again I answered "No, I haven't." Make a longer story short, the same jist of doctors asked me that question about a total of 9 times where they only asked the other routine questions about 3 times. Am I just paranoid or did they think I was lying?
Answers:
prob a little of both, 14 yr olds tend to lie about it and if u had had sex and they did anything invasive it could hurt the preg. plus all your syptoms could have been thought of as aeptopic preg..
it sounds like they may have thought you were lying to me
People lie, especially in front of family members. More importantly, they just wanted to be sure they were not about to do something invasive,( surgery), if they didn't have too. Sexually transmitted diseases can present the same way, and the majority of times they can be treated with medications and not surgery. they just wanted clarification of your risk factors.FYI, pregnancy tests are ALWAYS done on females of reproductive age regardless of what they tell the docs.
