they never heal completly. hurt mine the first time when i was 7, i am 47 now and it hurts pretty much all the time. sorry for the bad news.
It sounds as if you might have done some major damage to your knee if it is still tender and swollen after 2 months. I have learned the hard way that you have to watch these workman's comp. doctors as they will try to get the employer out of having to pay for a surgery or time off. My recommendation is to go to your own doctor tell him what happened and how long it has been. Also tell him that it was on the job. That way if he finds a problem that the others aren't you know that they are just trying to save your employer some money. Also if this is the case you can talk to a lawyer.
Hope this helps.
Going to the orthopedic doctor is the best thing you can do. ER docs are trained to save your life, not assess knee injuries. Bring the MRI images with you to the ortho b/c he/she will be able to read them and make the proper diagnosis. Docs that work with workers comp can be sketchy towards patients b/c they work in the best interest of the insurance company. Once you have a proper diagnosis then you can realize how long this may take to heal.
growing pain! are you in your teens or early twenty's? the knee is injured! see a specialist! not a doc in a box. work related injuries are poorly treated by workers comp. they work for the company to save them $$$$$$. but you have to squeak to get the care demand it if necessary!
