What do I do if one of my tonsils is swelling up? It hurts bad and I don't know what to do?

gargle with Kosher or rock salt water. Then put salt on the tonsil. It will sting like hell at first, but then you won't have such a sore throat. The salt will kill lots of germs. Then go to the doctor.
Also, you need to take better care of your teeth.
I used to get swollen tonsils all the time because food gets caught back there and that is what my grandparents did (put salt on it). I still have my tonsils. I take better care of my teeth and I have no problems. When I do, it's because I was being lazy.
you might have mono. but check with your doctor... they have pills for that.
i would go to the doctor it sounds like you have an infection.
Go to the doctor asap. Until then, gargle with very warm salt water - it will help to relieve the pain until you can
get to the doctor.
You may have tonsilitis. (I've had it a few times) Nowadays doctors are more reluctant to send you off to the O.R. to get them removed. You will most probably have to take an antibiotic (like penicilin) and will most probably feel relief within a day or so. Get to the doctor ASAP, before it gets worse.
Hope you feel better.
This actually happened to my Grandpa--
all of a sudden he got a really bad sore throat and his tonsil started to swell. So he went to the Doctor's office and it turned out that he had a tumor in his tonsil!
I mean, I don't know how old you are or your family history, but you should definitely get it checked out.
It could be nothing, but a doctor could prescribe an antibiotic or something to help you feel better.
