Getting Tetanus shot today. Any help?

Question:
Please, does anyone have any advice to help me relax while i'm getting the shot? And....does it hurt?? I'm so paranoid!

Answers:
One thing you can do is take 2 tylenol before you go and it will help with the soreness afterwards. Getting a tetanus shot feels like getting any other shot. The spot will be tender for a while but should be better in a day or two.
i got the tetanus shot last year.
it does hurt a little,
and your arm will be sore for a while after it.
when you're getting it
take deep breaths
in through the nose
and out through the mouth.
relax. and then close your eyes.
you'll be fine.
The shot itself doesn't really hurt - but your arm might be sore for a day to two afterwards.

Try squeezing your hands together before and as you're getting the shot. Take slow deep breaths. It will be over in just a second. I promise!
have u got a nice butt!
if u do i'l promise to be gentle with ur shot
just bend over boy!
it's a shot. just think about something else.
A tetanus shot doesn't really hurt compared to some things. Just look away and relax. Don't watch! Afterwards expect a bit of soreness for a couple days in the arm they gave it. :)
They don't hurt that much. Tell the nurse how you're nervous about the shot. She can help you through it. She has seen this many times before. Just take a deep cleansing breath and let it out. It will be over before you know it.
it really is no big deal.the meds are thick so you can feel them going in but it's not really painful.
Think of being on on quite beach lying under a parshal shade and part sun the wind is barely blowing over you, its abou 78 degrees drinking your favorite drink, with someone special or alone... No it actually does'nt hurt! I promise!
i had the same thing it is ovr before you even know it t took her like literaly half a second and all it was just a little sore the next day for like and hour when i woke up
it dont hurt it really feel like someone would poke you and it dont hurt it hurts after
It stings a little going in, I've found massaging the area right after you get the shot helps alleviate some of the soreness afterward. Most important to just relax, don't watch. The more you tense the more it will hurt. Take a deep breath and look away. The stinging only lasts a couple of seconds and isn't bad.
I got a tetanus shot a while back, and it didn't hurt at all. Some shots are more painful than others, the flu shot is very painful. It may also depend on who is giving you the shot. But dont get so worried about it, just think that it will only last like five seconds.
It's no big deal. It's like getting any other shot. Best way to make it hurt less when receiving it is not to tense up the muscle getting the shot and best way to make it feel better sooner after getting the shot is to use the muscle (IE if it's in the butt don't limp..walk normal) and massage the area.
Do your best to take slow deep breathes and whatever you don't look. Make sure your arm is relaxed and all you will feel is a small pinch. Your arm will be sore for a day or two, but dont favour that arm, keep on using it.

Good Luck, you will be fine
