I have researched this and found a few interesting websites.
It can simply be food digesting to conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome. If you are overly concerned I suggest that you visit a GP for a diagnosis. All the best.

If there is pain or discomfort, get a check up. You have to rule out gallbladder problems and gastric or duodenal ulcer.
It may be related to your food. Something doesn't agree with you.
Try any antacids with MPS that is antiflatulent, it will reduce gas formation & help you.

First thought was stomach digesting as I had it also and medical people suggest if you have other health related symptions( dont think I spelled that correctly) have a check up ,allowing for other problems like heart.
It's the acids in your stomach/intestines doing the work to break down your food. As long as you're not experiencing any pain, you should be fine. If that changes, go see your doctor.
My partner gets this when he is trying to sleep. It's the digestive system doing it's work. Your digestive system sits under your rib cage so its normal. Your stomach acid is making the gurgling I'd persume. If you feel sick and have poo upsets see your doctor. My partner has a bowel problem too.
