I rarely throw up but in the last few hours I have thrown up 5 times. Is there anything I should do?

Question:
I'm not sure how this happened but I believe it is food related. I am experiencing all sorts of abdominal pain such as cramping and heart burn. Should I take pepto bismal, or is there anything else I should do now that i've thrown up so much?

I was told to drink lots of water but that made it worse. Please help, thanks.

Answers:
any time you vomit more than once your stomach is highly irritated and you need to leave it empty for at least 8 hours to allow it to calm down. After the 8 hours take in only clear liquids for another 8 hours, then slowly add bland foods to prepare your digestive tract for use again.
buy a pregnancy test
i would contact a doctor
..throwing up is good for your system but can damage your organs after a while.. anyways you prlli have fever ..if not than take yourself to the doctor.. perhaps its food poisoning..
Don't drink lots of water!! You must have a stomach virus, take tiny sips of something, if you can. You could also try dry toast. I would just have nothing and wait it out. Take a Gravol and fall asleep.
if it get worse go to the ER it may be a allergic reaction to something you ate
Yes pepto helps. Once this food born illness has passed you will be feeling better. Stay away from drinking right now and let it calm done. They also have emiral which is for vomitting and food borne vommiting at the store. I suggest you wait until your tummy has clamed down a bit and then try to sip a little pepto to see if it helps. Then slowly suck on some ice a little bit at a time and soon you will be feeling better. Get lots of rest- geta cool cloth to cool yourself down.
I would try the pepto bismal or maybe even malox. You could also try sipping on some ginger ale and lay down in a quiet room and take a nap. that might help you. If that doesn't help, I would suggest seeing your doctor.
If this is sudden and food related, go to the emergency room NOW. More food has been recalled, this time for botulism.
definitely try some pepto bismal or some other kind of medicine for your stomach. It will coat it and make you feel a little bit better. Also once you think you can start drinking something with sugar in it. Sprite or gingerale will help a lot, the sugar will replenish your body with glucose you loose when you throw up which can make you feel sicker than the food poisoning if your blood glucose levels get too low. Try eating some crackers too once you think you can, just getting a little bit of food in there can help settle your stomach.
Hope you feel better!
Water will make vomiting worse. Sip some ginger ale, or other flat soda. Sip, do not drink.

From the sounds of it you have something more sever going on. You need to go to the ER. You could have food poisoning; you could also have gallstones, or something even more sever. Be safe and go to the ER now. If you do not feel you can drive, and do not have something that can drive you, have an ambulance come and take you to the ER. Vomiting with abdominal pain is serious.
Do NOTHING! For every ounce of liquid you introduce to your body you will throw up an ounce and a half. The one step forward two step back rule. If you must suck on ice. Do this for atleast 2 hours and then try (slowly) to intoduce liquids. If you manage to hold down small amounts of liquids than you can try crackers. Remember less is more when it comes to throwing up. If you continue to throw up even after stopping fluids I would contact your doctor for some meds to help so you don't become dehydrated. Good luck.
