Have a nice soak in a bath with relaxing bath salts, e.g. lavender or camomile. Have your bedroom at a comfy temperature. Read a little before setling, no TV. Try to go to bed at the same time each night to get your body into a routine
be as active as possible through the day, so that you are tired when you go to bed, if you have been active, then you will have no problem sleepingxx
Prepare to sleep - be ready to sleep before you get into bed.
go to bed at the same time every night
have a dark, cool place to sleep
learn to meditate - think about something relaxing.
if you have to, give yourself a couple of hours of extra time, and take a PM medicine (Tylenol PM, Sleepytime, Unisom) to help train your body to sleep at the right time, and for the right length of time.
Make sure to get 8-9 hours of sleep. Do not have caffine after 3pm. Do not watch TV while trying to go to sleep or use the computer right before going to bed. Try reading for 30 minutes before turning out the light. If you have trouble staying asleep, try taking a Benedryl before going to bed. Good luck!!
Relax and don`t worry. You can actually worry about whether or not you`re getting enough sleep, and that can stress you out!
a litre of vodka,and a hump.
Apparently A few mins exercise before bed is a way to a good nights sleep. This tires the body and helps you fall asleep quicker I think. Or try having a warm bath or a milky or malt drink like horlicks or hot chocolate. I drink herbal or green tea before I sleep.
Sleep well =)
Excercise, plenty of Fresh air, and a small carb based meal, avoid protein and caffeine before bed, if your still restless try having a hand party if your partners asleep
lavender scented bath, clear your mind ,and a newly made bed, heaven
ah the age old question. the main thing is just relax and if worst comes to worst and you can't sleep, take a sleep aid, they do wonders.
OK this is my recipe... get up early that day... do hard manual labour throughout... drink some alcohol... eat a Sunday dinner late in the evening... more alcohol... then masturbate... if that don't knock you out for seven hours you have insomnia and need medical and psychological help in order to solve under lying problems... also you could just do wot i did and do night shift... i sleep really well during the day i get my 7hrs no probs.. it cud just be your body clock... who knows?
First be VERY wary of ANY sleeping pill. They are so addictive that if they are taken 3, yes THREE, nights in a row, that withdrawal and ADDITIONAL sleep difficulty can be demonstrated on the forth night if they are then not taken. Almost no GPs seem to be aware of the available evidence demonstrating this!
Do not read, exercise or watch TV for at least 30 minutes before retiring as these are all brain stimulants. Take a warm, caffeine free drink. Also try aromatherapy quality lavender oil either on the pillow, or in a warm bath before retiring.
Finish outstanding projects and let yourself off the hook. Most of the time the reason we get so strung out subliminally that we can't sleep well is because we have these things we commit ourselves to but never finish up with that string us out indefinitely until we are ready to pop.
Put a bow on projects that are stalemated. Find an end point to things that have been heavy on your shoulders for too long. End the suspense. Get into the here and now.
I have been getting rid of old computer components which I had intended to repair "some day." I off-load them off the end of my driveway to passers-by who grab them up and make them disappear.
At day's end, my driveway is wide open and I am relieved of old junk that was sitting and sitting, robbing me of my energy because it was all intention but no action.
Reclaim your energy by finishing projects. Say no when you have enough on your plate. Do not over-extend yourself to anyone. It is not worth it. Do what you can easily manage so you always retain your inner power as a person. This will enable you to say when you have had enough, and that in itself will enable you to get a good night's sleep.
It is when we hand over our power to promises we can never keep or over to trying to be all things to all people or over to trying to do too many things, all of which never get done really to our best ability - that sleep will not come.
Sleep comes easily to someone who is free of burdensome projects and lists of things that never get done. Learn to say no when you have had enough.
Clear your plate, clear your projects, clear your intentions and clear your mind. Then stretch out long on your bed at night with a clear conscience and a happy feeling that you are yourself once again and enjoy a good night's sleep without having to make an effort for a change.
Thank you for posting your question, too. - Chris!
if you are ready to turn in and feeling a little antsy, pop some pills. an ambian, clonenanzepam and a pain pill and big tall cup of ice tea. thn plop your bum in front of the tv and stare at something without the sound. just the subtitles. if you dont fall asleep, go on to bed anyway. the really dumb shows like larry king or glen beck help me get sleepy. cnn is the best one to numb your noggin.
No idea, when you've tried & tested the suggestion's, will you let me know, big thanks
