Sodium is the number one culprit when it comes to high blood pressure, my husband was on 4 different medications for high blood pressure and when he started watching his diet and losing weight he was able to quit taking them.
You should aim at 2300 mg of sodium a day, that's in total about a teaspoon of table salt. Not very much!
Any processed meats, canned foods, and tv dinners are terribly full of sodium. Like 2 hot dogs is already half of what you should have for the whole day. Once you start watching it you will realize just how much you are getting.
Sometimes though hbp can be genetic and nothing you do will change it but medication, but my theory is, try everything you can and then you will know if it is something you can control.
Also, most foods low in fat/calories are higher in sodium to enhance the flavor.
They have a hbp for dummies book that is really good.
i don'tknow of anything naturally, im on a beta blocker prescribed by my doctor and it's been working for 4 years, tenormin.
There are alot of foods that lower your blood pressure. Like oatmeal, etc. Research it on the internet. Also, get more exercise. Cutting out salty foods from your diet will really lower it.
exercise ,low salt diet ,dont smoke and dont take alcohol thats it.
Try breathing exercises, meditation, and yoga.
exercise is good, start slowly and build gradually and of course talk to your doctor yadda yadda yadda.

Also, no kidding, meditation works. Lots of new science is starting to show the reasons behind the success of some of the eastern methods once pooh poohed by western doctors.

Stress affects blood pressure and stress is mostly mental, so meditation, yoga and other techniques have been shown to be clinically helpful

Marijuana is the best natural regulator of blood pressure. High blood pressure in my family and every one but me is on medication. Its your body and your health. The government shouldn't try to push you to use medication that will deteriorate other organs in your body over time. The leading cause of death in the elderly these days is kidney failure due to too much medication over time. Of course, the drug companies don't want you to know this. I am sure of it as at least 5 of my relatives have died recently from this malady.
