I pulled my hamstring today i can still walk but it really hurts and tomorrow i need to run a mile?? help!

Question:
what can i do to straighten it out or to make it fell better?

Answers:
The best medicine for any sport related injury is rest, plain and simple, if you have to run the mile which I sincerely think you shouldn't put a heating pad on it, when you go to bed put some Flexal or other hot and cold medicine for muscles or various pains. That morning slowly and I mean slowly warm up, then slowly and I mean very slowly stretch out the muscle stop if it hurts more than usual, then test out the muscle see what it can do see if you can still run that mile and if it seems impossible or the pain too unbearable dont run. I hope this helps.
I wouldn't run that mile and if you pulled it you should rest and use crutches. i pulled mine when i was a dancer and I was stubborn and walked on it and I still get hamstring cramps today. probably about 5 years later.
1. don't run the mile. do anything to get out of it. its just going to make it a lot worse
2. go to the doctor. they'll give you pain medication and help make it heal.
3. don't let it heal on its own without going to the doctor. its a bad idea

hope you feel better :]
.well you could stretch out your hamstrings..A LOT..but theres no guarentee that it will heal fully. if you have a choice, dont run, it could seriously injure the rest of your muscles, and it will take longer to heal.
Take Ibropofen or Advile before bed. 3 at a time is fine...then again in the morning an hour before your mile run. Good luck!!
do GENTLE stretches. If they hurt, stop. And rest for at least a week. Definately dont do the mile.
