I think i got bit by a spider... what should i do?
Question:
the spider was black and sorta of spotted. should i be worried?
Answers:
The spider you described is neither a black widow nor a brown recluse, the only two you really have to worry about. I would just watch closely and if they get worse go see a doctor. They will probably heal normally.
if it starts looking bad go to a doctor
Im not spider expert, but if you feel fine, then you are. Spider bites are pretty normal...you don't even want to know the avg number a spiders a person swallows in their sleep during their life time, and most spiders are not, or do not have enough venum to harm a person. However, if it bit you recently (within the hour) and u start feeling numb or dizzy, maybe you should call poison control and ambulance.
uh go to a dr. you don't want it to become worse
Where do you live? Some places have poisonous spiders and other do not. What color were the spiders spots? To really be able to help you at all we need more information.
Watch the bumps and how you feel. If you start to swell up really bad, or begin experiencing local tenderness/pain, generalized severe muscle cramps, abdominal pain, weakness or tremor, or begin feeling nauseous, faint, vommiting, dizzy, or having chest pain get to a doctor or your local emergency room for treatment.
Hope this helps. :-)
Well 2 years ago I was bit by a spider, and I went the the hospitaland the dr gave me medicine and said it should help, but the next morning I woke up my bite turned as big as a softball in size, was red, and very hot feeling. So I circled the area, and later that night is was covering my whole upper thigh, and I finally went to the hospital the 2nd time and had to have it lanced open, and they cut into my thigh about 2inches cause the infection was so bad and they drained all the poision out and it was nasty looking like chewed up bubble gum, and that was my mussel the dr said it was eating my leg from the poision. So don't wait to long it was not something I would ever want to deal with every day! The cleaning alone of the area, and the PAIN! Was HORRIBLE. Good luck, but please don't wait to long.
I've been bitten by spiders a few times when sleeping and its not fun. The skin around the bites I've recieved itched a lot and was very tender similar to a bad mosquito bite on a sunburned area of skin and they lasted about a week. Depends on the location of the bite though, one i had was on the shoulder near my neck and the bite made wearing a shirt quite uncomfortable.
I had the same reaction to a spider bite as the guy whose bite turned to the same size as a softball. I was bit by a brown recluse and had no clue.
Keep an eye on the bite for at least a few days to a week. If it starts to swell or look like an ulcer (become an open wound) go to the doctor. Chances are, it was just one spider bite (as spiders usually have 2 fangs) and it most likely was not poisonous.
You can use some over the counter bug bite medicine to reduce some of the itching and other symptoms.
