Medication for fast heart rate?

Question:
i just got prescribed atenolol for a fast heart rate SOMETIMES..ive took two of the pills..but the last two days havent took them b/c im so scared..it doesnt seem like a safe medicine to me..i take one a day and they are 25 MG...my heart doesnt always go fast..its just when im doing somethin..is there any other medicine that doesnt mess with your blood pressure? idk..im just really scared.

Answers:
atenolol is basically a blocker of Epinepherine for the heart.

Epinepherine (adrenalin) is a sympathetic nervous system
chemical that increases heart rate, constricts peripheral vessels, and increases circulation to the muscles and internal organs. Block it, or partially block some of the receptors, and the heart rate will slow down. Follow your doctors prescription, if you don't feel well, let him know
Toporal or a beta blocker.
