I recently had spine surgery and my nervers were irritated, now I'm on Gabapentin?

I have nerve damage in my neck, a Dr. injured me 1998. I have had neck surgery but still have chronic pain so my neurologist put me on Gabapentin, it does work so well. I am on 800mg three times a day and it works for me. He started me out on that dose and it works for me! Glad you found a dose that helps you, I believe if your Dr. doesn't listen to you, find another one!
I have been lucky with my Dr.s
I know what you mean. It's really hard when you know that something is wrong and you can't get the appropriate care. It's good that the ER told you that your dosage was not enough. I went through this as well. Neurontin really does help with the nerve pain. I hope you continue to get relief and that you do not have to go through that ever again. I know it doesn't take all of the pain away because I suffer from severe chronic pain. However, anything that takes the edge off is worth it.
Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us. It reminded me to keep on fighting through the pain and make sure I get the best pain relief possible. Thank you.
I took 1200mg, 3x per day for 4 months and did not experience any pain relief, except for the last month when I also took 700 mg of Soma per day with it.
Then just the Soma worked for a few months, until I became addicted to it.
Now I can't take it, because I overdosed on it after needing to increase the daily dosage on a consistent basis and developing a full-blown addiction for myself a few years ago.
My pain is MS related, and I think that it depends on the exact nature of your injury as to which medication will actually help every individual person.
It is great that Neurontin works well for you, just be careful with it. None of my doctors ever said anything about Soma being addictive, and it only became a controlled substance a little more than a year ago(after I OD'D on it, of course). Sorry about your pain, I know it sucks.
