My ears pop constantly. Is this normal?

You hear it when your Eustachian tube opens..that is, the thin tube that links your middle ear (behind the ear drum) with your throat. Air passes in and out of the middle ear to bring the pressure into equilibrium with that outside and any fluid build up should pass out into the throat this way too. Some people with thin Eustachian tubes have a tendency to blocked ears, but if you're hearing the popping sound allot at least it is working.
I hear it more some times than at others and guess that this has something to do with the amount or viscosity of fluid in the middle ear (this can also be a symptom of middle ear infection, but unless there's pain, heat or other signs of illness you probably don't have this)
Taking a decongestant can temporarily improve air/liquid flow through the Eustachian tube, but that won't get rid of the popping.
I assume you mean recently, not all your life.
You probably have an ear infection. Could be a virus. I had that once. Doctor helped me. Bet a doctor could help you, too.
Maybe you caught something.

you probably need a ear cleaning. Do they clog up and go deaf? or you do not hear so well. I use to get this, but the Lord healed my ears, it use to pop when they were clogging up. I had to go to the doctors 1 time every 3 months and they take this flusher thingy, and drain out all the wax build up. Now my ears flush out on their own.
painless by the way, somtimes a wierd feeling when they clean it. Water goes against your eye ball, as they flush you ears...feels funny.
