dont drink or eat anything with caffeine in it 3 hours prior to sleep.. ie: coffee, tea, cola, chocolate.
try eating no later than 2 hours prior to sleeping.
and you can have a cup of decaf tea with some warm milk in it.. milk makes you sleepy..
try keeping your room a nice temp, not to warm or too cold.. keep the lighting down, read before sleeping, it will bore you to sleep.. also try deep breathing for a 5 min before... like laying down flat, taking in through your nose a deep breath, expanding your stomach, NOT your shoulders, holding it to a count of 5 or 7 seconds, then slowly exhaling through your lips making a shooooosh sound.. do this 4 or 5 times. and imagine a section of your body relaxing.. like legs, torso, arms, etc...

try reading yourself to sleep.
I have the same problem. A busy mind that won't let me get to sleep. The only way I can get to sleep is to read a good book. It's got to be one you like, not just any book. This will make you "turn off" everything else in your mind.
Be sure to put a timer on your bedside lamp though or you will be waking up again to turn the light out. lol

That happens to me too. I end up listening to a song I bought on itunes called Pacific Ocean and it's the sound of waves and it makes me get sleepy.
use pills or warm milk. I do hard exercise till I get exhausted then fall asleep.
sleeping tablets i have same problem sometimes ill start watching a movie so i drain out on that and when my mind stops racing i can get to sleep. try reading a book before going to bed

Sometimes I can be so tired but just cant fall asleep so what I usually do is close my eyes and just not think of anything and just stop thinking and no matter how hard you want to think of something just stop thinking then you will slowly drift off. I hope that this works for you. Good luck:)

Put on a DVD of a TV show that interests you, but doesn't engage you so thoroughly you can't keep from looking at it. An old favorite, something soothing. Keep the sound on the low side, so that by the time it ends, with you hopefully asleep, it won't wake you up. After a hard day at work, I throw in an old movie and almost always fall asleep during it.
Well sleeping disorder...
At night while on bed, close ur eyes & think of ur dreamplace or a dreamperson or any memorable moment & keep on thinking about that. U will realise that u get so engrossed in that thought that u all of a sudden fall off to sleep. Try it.

Write down what you eat and drink all week and compare that to the days you can fall asleep to the days you can't. It can very well be your diet. Some people are more sensitive and can't go to sleep if you drink soda pop before you go to bed (or anything sugary). Especially monitor what you eat and drink after 7pm.
Yes, stress plays a big factor as well. I'm going through this problem right now. I like to take Tylenol PM's sometimes, it helps me. But don't take them every night, don't want to get addicted to sleeping pills. Go to your doc and they can give you all sorts of advice. Good Luck!
Take warm bath then drink warm Chamomile or Anis drink..it helps you to relax and get to sleep.
I drink Anis drink before i sleep and it's perfect way to get to sleep.Try it.....8)
