nothing helps !!!
i know what it feels like going to bed,and see the sun
come up again...without a wink of sleep.
there is no remedies..think a sleeping tablet is the
only way to go.
i cannot continue like this, neither can you.
wish you all the best !
why don't you ask your doctor about this. Women who have just given birth have lot of problems like that.
I cant say that i have the stress factor that you do with such a hectic life (Congrats on doing the best you can) but i am 23 and a student going for my diploma. I have the same problem that i toss and turn for a few hours before i go to sleep. I remidied the problem by winding down, the stress levels in your life are effecting your sleep patterns (and a new baby would not help you with the feedings in the middle of the night, :)), I take a bath and relax get into my pyjamas and just relax with a little light reading or tv, a warm chocolate from time to time dose not hurt either.
Sometimes it is the littlest things that can help.
I suggest that when you get home from work, give your kids an early dinner and bath to get them ready for their bed time, what ever time that you have chosen, that will leave you with some time to concentrate on yourself - because you need to look after yourself so you can take care of your kids, i say that in a good kind way- explain to your family that 'mommy needs help' and share a little of the load with your partner or mother.
My sister has two children and she sends them over to stay one day a weekend every fortnight, she gets to have the rest that she needs so that she can recharge and mum and i have a blast with the kids. A free ride to the icecream shop.
Now Dont excersise before bed time, it will get your adrenalen going and wont be good for sleep. Try to get to bed early, say 9pm the latest, every night this should get your body into a rythem where you start getting tired by eight thirty.
Try reading a book for half an hour or watching tv lying down, sounds lazy - it is!
NO COFFEE OR TEA! NO COKE OR ANYTHING WITH CAFEEN before you go to bed, it will keep you awake.
Try having lavender under your pillow, it is a calming agent and a repellant to headachs.
It could be that your room is too warm, the body is more receptive to sleeping when it is in a cool tempreature. Just look at the way that you try and sleep in 30+ degree heat, you will toss and turn.
Try to stay away from the pills, i have had them before and trust me, i have seen what happens to ppl when they become dependant on them to sleep. Not me, i was knocked out for three days straight the first time i tried them... not going there again :)
But even with all these suggestions, i believe that it is the high stress levels that you have. Try and share the worries and the care with your partner or family, they will think you responsible for doing so and thank you for letting them in.
I wish you all the best.
BTW congrats on your newest member, they are certanly a gift.
If you are looking for a serious, not temporary, solution (as opposed to pills which give temporary results) here's a great site:
http://www.thesoundsleep.com
(Give it a minute to load...it has a short video.)
It has nothing to do with pills or herbs. It's an innovative approach & one that seems to work with a lot of people.
Good luck!!
After giving birth almost all women undergoes a series of hormonal changes that may affect your sleeping. Please check with your doctor and try to be very careful with what you eat since this has a lot of bearing in your whole health. Drink up to 8 glasses of water a day. Share the responsibility of caring for the new baby with your husband or any other family. Keep calm. Wish you the best
