Scratched eye cornea ? Have you ever had a scratch to your cornea? The symptoms ?

Question:

I think I may have a scratch to the surface of my left eye. How can I tell ? Would would be the symptoms and / or feeling of the eye if it is scratched ?

If it is scratched . . . How would it be treated by a doctor ? What procedures to they do to aid the eye or might the scratch heal and the scratch go away on it's own hours or a day or two?

If it is scratched would it heal on it's own as with any scratch to the skin ?

It's Saturday, so I'm thinking of waiting to contact my doctor on Monday morning as I'd prefer not to deal with week-end emergency medical care.

It's hard to type this with the vision of one ' good ' eye . . . but wanted to ask.

well if the scratch is superficial it'll heal with no problem, only some bandages for a while is all that it needs..but if deeper it requires an intervention
