What's wrong with my throat?

Question:
I want to know why my throat is starting to feel sore again after I just took medication for it. The first time I took it...it came back and I went to my real doctor and he gave me stronger medication for it and it worked better than the other now I feel it coming back again I think. What's wrong with it...someone please help me out. I don't go to the doctor again until the 22nd and I hope this doesn't worsen before that time comes

This sounds exactly what my daughter is going thru with her throat. Our doctor said it was allergies and she was congested up around her ears, then at night when she is sleeping and the A/C is on, it causes some of it to drain and drain into her throat, causing it to swell and hurt.
Some decongestent did the trick.
Now this was after several doctor visits and unneccessary antibiotics for "strep" etc. So you might give this a try and see if it works for you too.
what was the medication for? that might be helpfull

try some hot tea and honey to coat the throat... stay away from milk or dairy products, that causes flem
deep throating hurts.
Can't answer thsi question without more info, is it strep throat? do you have white spots on your tonsils? Did you do something to strain your throat? Is it just sore or does it hurt a lot? Please, more details.
you need to call your doctor and tell him about it ! You might need some more of the meds or totally different ones
Gargle several times a day with warm salty water..It could be just your throat is irrated from things you breathe..The salt water will help if it is just irrated but it is a good idea to visit the doctor again to make sure nothing else is going on .
If you're having to take medication for the sore throat, I'm assuming you have strep. It's not uncommon for it to take awhile to make it go away completely, as strep can be a stubborn bacteria. Call the Doctor and tell the nurse it's come back again. You probably won't have to wait until the 22nd to get relief since you have already seen him for this problem. He'll probably call you in something different or stronger to try. If it isn't strep and he hasn't done a swab of your throat to determine the exact bacteria, sometimes a few different antibiotics need to be tried to knock it out. Good luck.
You need to call the doctor. It sounds like maybe you have bulit up a tolerance to the medication, which is not good.
You don't mention if you have tonsils or not. Was what they said you had 'tonsillitus'? This can be a real stinker to get rid of, but the tonsils are one of the body's first line of defense mechanisms so they do their job of telling you that you are getting germs by giving you a heck of a sore throat. Keep going back until you are cured of this throat problem, and make a note about what medicines you have taken for this so you know what works and how much it takes, and what doesn't seem to work very well.
I had to have my tonsils out at age 36 so you are never too old for this. I can tell you about my tonsillectomy if you are scared. ((hugs))
Are you taking all the medication or just until you start to feel better? You should take all prescribed by the doctor even if you feel better. Also do you smoke? If so, I'd stop until you fully recover.
