Would there be any harm in taking 4 year old pepto bismol?

Question:
I want to know if it would just be less potent or if it might actually cause problems. It expired in 2003.
thanks,

Answers:
I would not recommend it because when something expires, that means that it no longer takes effect. Especially if it has been 4 years. Throw it away, because i can guarantee that if you take it, you will feel worse, and maybe even end up in the hospital with poisoning
It expired four years ago. Please don't drink it.
Generally things have experation dates for a reason. You can try it.. but i highly doubt it's going to taste that great. Throw it away and spend $4 on a new bottle.
i am a registered medication technician and i can assure you that it is fine to take it you can take things that are ten years old it just won't work as well you may need to take a bigger dose hope this helps good luck!
