What means coblation?
Question:
Answers:
Coblation uses radio waves that turn a simple salt solution into a stream of powerfully charged ions. These ions don't get very hot. But they carry so much energy, they cut right through tissues. It is becoming more popular for tonsillectomies and adenoidectomies.
Coblation is also used for electrosurgical skin resurfacing; it is used for shallow skin problems such as light wrinkles and light acne scars.
Coblation may also be used to treat herniated spinal lumbar discs. And it has been used for some knee procedures.
There is less damage to surrounding structures, less trauma, and less pain.
