Question:
My granddaughter got bit by a spider and we don't know what kind. It has a 4 inch red red circle and in the middle is about a quarter size redder and in the center is a match stick size white spot. The whole area is hard.

if you go to merck .com -merck -is the author of many medical textbooks - and i believe you can also look on the web -under insect bites and stings -you should find alot of info on specific bites -and identity of the type of spider .. it sounds like a site specific anaphylactic reaction-meaning -only the affected area is swelling and the bump is rigid-or hard - use a product called "afterbite"its great for bites like this -available in any pharmacy -takes pain away -and reduces swelling
