Cold, Tired, and Now I have Mysterious Bruises?
Question:
I had my entire family come up this weekend and everyone was wearing shorts and t-shirts. I was cuddled up on the couch with a sweater and blanket. This, however, is very common for me. Now I always have heard women seem to always be cold versus men, but it bothers me a lot. I seem to not be able to enjoy watching a movie without a blanket or I will be shivering.
Right now I am extremely fatigued and I do not have a fullblown cold. I have been sleeping for about 10 or so hours every day. This too is very common for me though on a normal day.
Yesterday I noticed a huge bruise on my left leg, in which I have no idea where I got it. THis morning I woke up with a bruise on my other leg in which is very big and purple.
Lastly, my legs always seem very sore whether I am very active, or not active at all.
Maybe these things are petty, but it kind of made me wonder. any ideas?

This could be a number of things. Diagnosis over a computer is risky and the only thing it would do is confuse and.or scare you. My best advice is call your family doctor and explain the symptoms. He or she will likely want to examine you, especially since you are bruising and have limb pain. There is a chance that you are suffering from some sort of blood or circulatory disorder.
Kari has some really good advice. Call you doctor. If you take alot of ibuprofen, stop it, that can cause bruising.
Why don't you go to the Dr. & get a check up. How old are you? Maybe your anemic or diabetic.
The bruises seem to either be incidental or they could be a sign of something worse a vitamin deficiency perhaps. The fatigue you are complaining about can also point to a vitamin deficiency. Your intolerance to cold is more in line with a thyroid problem such as hypothyroidism. Your description of your symptoms is not much to go on and if you are really concerned go to your primary care provider and have blood drawn that is the best way to find out if there is a problem. My guess would be either lupus, a vitamin deficiency (are you vegetarian do you take a multi vitamin), hypothryoidism or some sort of possible anemia.
Some herbal supplements have been known to have anticoagulant effects such as garlic supplements which is why it is recommended for people at risk for a MI. You should probably go to your family care provider and have blood work. If you make an appointment make one for the morning so you can get a scrip for blood work and DO NOT EAT FOR AT LEAST 12 HOURS PRIOR. You will probably have to be fasting for accurate baseline readings. Just dont go to the ER this is not an emergency, I see way too many morons that show up to the ER, but they have no emergency and should just wait for an appointment to their PCP..there is a reason its called the emergency room. Best of luck !
I would say there is a good chance you have a circulation problem which can be due to something as simple as a vitamin deficiency or something more complicated.
I have some kind of circulation problem . About 4 years ago I too would wake up with random bruises on my legs only. I went to a doctor and apparently NOTHING was wrong.
I am never the cold person though, or never have cold feet when I shouldn't, etc.
I right now have phlebitis of my legs. I had to go to 2 doctors to be told this recently. It made my legs very painful, no matter what I did, made me have spider veins, made me bruise and swell. When my legs hurt, I can tell it is my veins. Thankfully the really painful part is over now.
I have some other issues that make me think something isn't right.
Definently go to the doctor, hopefully they will be better than the ones I have seen.
Oh, dear, you may be anemic. Have you checked your iron count lately? Bruising easily usually comes with anemia, your system may be weakened by a cold, etc. See a doctor and do a blood test when you can. Meanwhile, drink apple juice.
