Finger cut in June, what is healing time?

Question:
I cut my left pinkie June 13 and got three stitches. The injury was on the joint of the inside of the hand (the center bendable area of a finger). I got stitches out June 29, but because the finger was in one position for the entire time, the muscle atrophied. Doctors seeing it says it should be fine and heal over time. Despite exercises and the treatments of ice/heat, I am still stiff and very painful to bend the finger. I always drop something if I hold it with my left hand (I am right hand dominant but I should be able to hold a piece of paper in the hand), especially if it contacts the finger. The area where the stitches were is still a bit red, but doctors say no infection. How long until I am healed and can move my finger freely? Any advice as to what to do in the mean time? Thanks.

Answers:
Has the skin healed completely? thats a big answer I would need. You might have nerve damage that causes a reflex to let go of something you hold. A tendon could be an issue there too because they move your bones. It is unlikely that this is a muscular problem.
you can buy polysporin over the counter to heal it=seek a second opinion on the finger and try to get therapy on it
