Do not guess.Dosage is based upon both age and weight. It is way too easy to OD an infant.
Is there a benadryl for infants ? Make sure you are giving your child the right does from the right product.
Call a pharamcist. They will know.
try rubbing some vicks vapor gell on his chest and back.
You need to call your pharmacist. Since this is an infant, the dosage needs to be by his body weight and age. Also this is not going to help immediately. You may not see any change in his symptoms for at least 24 hours.
You really shouldn't use Vicks on infants.
one small teaspoon thrice a day for 3 days n if still not treated consult dr again.always give very little quantity or very less quantity to infants otherwise they will sleep a lot n other side effects may also occur, hope this works,n forgot to tell u im a pharmacist.
First off, age plays no factor in determining a dosage for a child. The dosage is based soley on weight of the child. The recommended dosage for benadryl is 5 mg/kg/24 hours; so what that is saying that for every kilogram that your child weighs, you may give him or her 5 mg of benadryl. Your child, as you stated, is 8.18 kg, so they could recieve a MAXIMUM of about 40 mg every day, divide that into 3 separate doses... so about 13 mg per dose. Be sure to check what the concentration of the liquid is, do the math and be sure. There is room for calculation error, so if you are unsure, call a local pharmacist.
