Question:
I was flossing a few weeks ago and I cut my gum. It was irritated for the longest time, now it's heeling but, there is a swollen flap...I was wondering how long if ever will it take for it to heel completely? Will it become a part of the rest of my gums eventually? Is it something to be worried about?
Answers:
No worries. Should only take a few days. Your mouth is one of the fastest healing parts of your body. It is only something to worry about if it gets infected. Rinse with warm salty water to be safe.
You're waiting for your gum to "heel"? Talk about being down in the mouth! Hee hee! It's spelled "heal" and it can take a month or more. Don't sweat it.
give it sometime, but in the meantime you can use mouth wash to kill all the germs or you can use warm water and salt, it will help heal quicker.
