I just took 1600mg of ibuprofen?

Question:
im 6'1'', 175 pounds, am i gunna die

Answers:
The highest prescription dosage of ibuprofen I have seen is 800 mg.

I think just this once you will be okay. Just don't make it a habit.

It's not as dangerous as taking too much acetomenophen aka Tylenol is metabolized by the liver and can cause liver damage. Ibuprofen is metabolized differently(I think).

They sometimes will use ibuprofen in conjunction with tylenol to bring down a fever with an alternating schedule of the two medications.

Don't listen to the person about bleeding out. You have to have pre existing conditions in your bowels to have this amount of ibuprofen kill you.

Don't do it again. Read labels before taking pills. I know it's easy to make mistakes. One time I woke up and took an ambien(sleep pill) with my morning vitamins. The result was hilarious.
NO, but shouldn't you have asked that before you took it?
Your liver won't love you for sure.
your height and weight dont matter. Ibuprofen can cause stomach bleeds, amongst other things. eat. don't do it again and if you feel unwell or start to pass blood, go straight to the doctor. Bleeding out id a horrible way to die.
No, but your Kidney's and Liver won't thank you, nor the lining of your stomach. Why on earth would you take that much when the average dose is 200 to 400 mg.
You can wipe out your liver and or kidneys just by doing that. Don't do it anymore. If you suffer from extreme chronic pain, see a pain management specialist.
I seriously doubt you will die, but why on earth did you take that much? Do you even have a prescription for it? OTC is only available in 200mg. 400mg, 600mg, and 800mg can only be obtained (legally) from a pharmacy. Don't be surprised if you become sick to your stomach after such a dose. Its not good for your liver, either. Even if you were given a script for the 800mg dose from a doctor, I have a difficult time believing they'd want you to take 1600mg as a single dose. If the doctor actually wrote you a script instructing you to do so, I strongly recommend checking with the doctor and or pharmacy just to be sure a mistake wasn't made.
Have you tried a Yahoo search for ibuprofen + overdose (OR toxic)?
