How does sleep actually work?

Question:
We can close our eyes in the day and not fall asleep, but at night we close our eyes and sleep! Our eyes are still "looking" but are just shut. Why do our eyes sometimes roll back in our head?

Answers:
"sleep" is when your mind slips out of conscious thought.
You have no control over your muscles when your are unconscious. During this time of sleep, your muscles get a chance to relax as well as your brain. Through out the day your brain is firing neurons to keep muscles moving and your eyes processing all that information, but when your asleep, your body can take a well deserved break. This is why sleep deprevation can cause severe problems as well as death.

have no idea...
When u close ur eyes, ur brain gets a signal to do an activity called sleep.. Then ur brain give a signal to ur heart, so ur heart slowed down a bit. With a slow beated heart, ur body will feel relaxed. And ur brain will make u unconsious.. it's sleep..
