I am confused about the health care?

In my town we have a Community Health Center where fees are based on your income if you do not have health insurance. In some instances a person could qualify for free services. It is based on income level. Before I had medical insurance I was paying only $15 per visit.
Our local hospital also has programs to qualify for reduced fees. You just need to ask as they will not readily volunteer that information. They are more than happy to provide you with the forms though.
Check around your area and see if there is anything like that available. One place to call would be the health dept. or an "Info Line" if there is one in your community. They would have that sort of information.
Good luck!
Medicare is for the elderly, retired or disabled. You can get Medicaid if you are within there income requirements. Unemployed with children or of low income. Check with your local Department of Social Services to if you qualify for benefits.
There is plenty of help. Look in your blue pages in your phone book. I don't know what state you are in, but they will have state and local programs for your area. Even if you call a general assistance chapter, they will be able to direct you!
