Health and doctor question in canada.?

Question:

I live in canada. I do not know a whole lot about the health system or getting tests done. For example lets say that I think I have a health problem. Now getting the test to see if its true is not that expensive but I have no proof that I have this disease in fact its almost a wild guess but its still a strong hunch of mine. I have not gone to a doctor yet about it but I do not think the health system will fork up the cash to complete a test if I only have one symptom that could be caused by many things.

Now perhaps I can talk it over with a doctor and he could quickly change my mind or just ignore me. Is there any ware I can pay to have something done even if the doctor does not think its something that could be wrong. You never know the doctor once informed might agree with me but I am just asking this as a question. In the US I believe if you fork up the cash almost anything can be done. Can I fork up cash in canada and get treatment too?

I live in Canada also and we have one of the best health care systems!! I take it that you don't have medical coverage... that is expensive.. you should look into appling for it if you are that concerned about your health! That is why we have it here! I have been without and I know the walk in clinics cost a fortune! You can see a doctor about anything, ask anything, as long as you have that med. card!! It is well worth the small amount you have to pay every month!! Think about Blue Cross, that isn't worth it to us, but it may well be for you!! Also, If you don't make enough money for it the goverment will cover it! Med. card that is. Why fork up money for something you are not sure about especially when we have such a good health care system here! Other countries would be more than happy to have our system!
