Severe outer ear ache?

Question:
I sometimes awaken in the morning with extreme pain all over my entire outer ear and lobe area's. it feels as if I have been hit in the ear by a baseball bat. It usually takes as much as 5 to ten minutes to get the pain to subside at least somewhat. can anyone solve this riddle...thanx

Answers:
This might be because the muscles around the ear are tense from grinding your teeth at night. Its similar to waking up with a sore neck. You could also have a case of swimmers' ear that gets aggrivated from teeth grinding or jaw tension at night. If it's that you would need to get an antibiotic to clear up the infection.
YEAH
Maybe an ear infection but see your GP for goodness sake.
go to your doctor.
you might have water in your ear and you have an ear infection.
BUT GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!
