Answers:
a trauma is simply a injury to a area that is generally from a in pact of some nature. by being hit in the jaw, the impact to the joint called the temprolmandibular joint, causes swelling to the joint and can aggravate the semi liquid disk in the joint that acts like a pillow for the joint to move on. thus causing pain cracking and tenderness to the area. i could last for several weeks to months depending on the trauma ( damage to the joint and surronding tissues.
it means, your jaw has suffered a bit of a shock, and needs a little bit of time to heal and calm down again.
Trauma is shock due to accident. It may also mean painful suffering
