Help I have an infected hand!?

Question:
Please no disgusting remarks but I think its infected because I was stealing second base and I slid head first (intentionally), tearing skin from the palm of my hand. Pus is starting to come out and I need tips (other than see a doc) on how to fight the infection. What will happen if I dont deal with this please help this could be a matter of losing my hand or not1!

Answers:
Well I know you don't want to hear that you should see a doctor, but I would advise you to go see one. You may need a tetanus booster shot (every 10 years you need one)

Other than that wash your hand really well with plain old soap and water. Bactine is fine but not necessary. Cover it with a bandage to try to keep it clean. If it appears to be getting worse get your butt to a doctor in case you need a round of antibiotics. The ground has lots of nasty microbes in it that can give you a raging infection.

Keep an eye on it. You needn't worry about losing your hand, just use a little common sense and go see a doctor if it doesn't start to heal in a few days or so.

Good luck
Clean it out very well with some soap and water, then use some neosporn,or bactin, ioden anything like that put a band aid on it or some gauz and tape down the gauz, just keep it dry and clean and if its not to deep it should heal up. just watch it closely and if it gets REALLY RED and painful you might wunna see a docter but thats up to you.

One question does it have little bumbs around it?
If it's already infected you have two choices: See a doctor (A Nurse Practitioner might even work) and get some antibiotics, or lose the hand and risk the infection spreading to the blood (fatal). C'mon guy, wait in line at the free clinic, and get yourself fixed up. No doctor bill is worth losing a hand over.
