Is heat or cold better for a sore knee?

Question:
Is it better to ice your knee or to put heat on it? What does heat actually do for your joints?

Thanks!

Answers:
heat is more for muscle pulls or strains, for knees i always use ice when it gets inflammed. good luck
heat is for pain, while ice is mor for swelling.

but for a knee since its not a muscle, you should use ice because heat is for muscles and muscle strains.
Never ever ever ever use ice on a joint when it is inflammed or swollen due to injury!!!

Ice sends the healing cells away from the joint that your body is trying to heal.

Icing joints and taking antinflamatories are why people's joints never heal right and they continute to have pain!

Definitly heat it though, this causes more blood flow to the area. If you are having chronic knee problems, research prolotherapy. It cured my joints completely after just one session. I was in alot of pain due to using too much weight over the years of doing bodybuilding and powerlifting.

research prolotherapy and you will learn alot about what you really need to do for your joints.
alternate between heat and ice
20 mins heat
20 mins ice
the ice dulls the pain
and the heat relaxes the joints and is just soothing
hope you feel better =]
