If you are visiting another state for a few months, will a pharmacy accept your prescriptions from your state?
Question:
Answers:
Ask your dr. or pharmacist, but the major chains--CVS, Wal-Mart, Walgreen's, etc--usually accept refills in other states.
Speak to your physician or your local pharmacist.
They should, but to be on the safe side I would switch to a national pharmacy (if you aren't already using one) and then they can transfer the prescription to any of their locations. Very easy and convenient!
I think most pharamcies will transfer prescriptions. Bring your old pill bottle with you (with the original RX information on it) to the new pharmacy and they can call the old pharmacy and transfer the script.
I would go down and ask my pharmacist. What he can probably do is set it up for you at a pharmacy in the town that you are going to visit. It's his job as a health care provider to offer assistance. Hope this helps.
Yes, the license to prescribe drugs for doctors comes federally. As long as your doctor is appropriately licensed, you should have no problems.
