Three weeks ago I was longboarding [on the gound] and i slipped and fractured my foot. It turned out to be a fifth metatarsal fracture [not a jones fracture a milder one] and my doctor made me get one of those HUUUGE aircasts. After going to a few other bone doctors, it turns out i only needed a small shoe with a hard sole. Now, three weeks later my foot feels a lot better and i only have mild pain. I usually walk barefoot around the house and i have no problem [however i walk on the side of my foot that isnt fractured.] Anyway out of curiosity, i tried on a normal nike shoe and walked around my house and felt fine. I was wondering if it would be safe to walk around town with a normal shoe but i would walk slowly and safely. Will my foot turn out worse then before?

I really think you should wait until your doctor tells you, you can wear a sneaker...if may feel fine, but you don't want to go and do something to it and not even realize you are harming it. The doctor should know best, they are the doctor after all!! I'm sure you'll soon be able to take it off. If you really want to wear a sneaker I'd go see your doctor and tell them what you told us, about how it feels good and so on. However myself I'd wait, just in case.
The best person is your doctor. Take his advice and don't take risk with any non professional advice please.
If the doctor tells you to discontinue the hard sole shoe then it should be fine. You don't want to re-break it and start all over again.
Wait for your doctor's instructions to go back to a regular shoe. It may feel fine to you, but you could be doing some serious damage to your foot while it's trying to heal. Good luck!
