Found a bug on my bed, how can I find out what kind it is?

Wings rule out the two possibilities mentioned above. It may be mercury light worm which is harmless, but can give you allergy if crushed.
Maybe take a picture and post it in some photoshare site.
It might be a bed bug. Look it up in google, or write a description of the bug and search it in google.
It sounds like a centipede

Call or go to your local/county agriculture society. Almost every county has one. My mother used them all the time, when she found strange bugs especially those that messed with her garden. If they cannot help, maybe your local University.
