What is the probability of rebreaking a collarbone?

Question:
I broke it playing hockey last year, and i also play football. Im a linebacker, a position with a lot of contact. Im wondering what the probability of rebreaking it in football is? or if anyone knows in general?

Answers:
i have heard that it only takes 7 pounds of pressure to break a collerbone. so if it hits in the right spot then it will deffinatly break again.
A bone that has been broken heals stronger than it was before. But all it takes is another hard hit in the right place.
You will have the same chance as everyone else it makes no difference.
My son just broke his femur at a hockey game 4 weeks ago. His orthopedist said that the bone heals stronger but the likelihood of him breaking it again is high. I don't know why and I didn't ask...but he said once a bone is broken, there is a better chance it will break again. Becareful.
Well, keep this in mind and see if you can figure it out yourself. When you really, thoroughly fracture a bone it will grow back a little stronger than it was before. I stress the word "little." However, relative to other bones in your body, your collar bone is really weak. I would definitely get clearance from a sports physical therapist - not a regular MD, before you make a final decision.
