Sterilizing a Needle?
Question:
will rubbing alcohol remove nailpolish??
im old enough so don't tell me why im asking.
and no it's not to pierce skin.
Answers:
Sewing needle or syringe. Both are sometimes called needles.
Lets assume sewing needle.
Soap/water and then mechanically clean with isopropryl alcohol, not rubbing alcohol will get it clean.
It's best to know what an item is contaminated with in order to remove it. Wax, oils and paint require special solvents.
Sterilizing generally requires an autoclave or by heating.
When you get an injection. The nurse uses a cotton ball or gauze moistened in isopropril (sp?) alcohol and also mechanicly removes dirt and dead skin. Germs can be a bit tougher to get rid of.

Acetone will remove nail polish. It's the main ingredient in nail polish remover.
your mind is the key to the answer...
Heat is the best, but alcohol will work to sanitize the needle. But still really why do you need to do that, let a hospital do it for you,
ok, vet sci experince, donot use a flame. newer, not older than a year old iso alcohol will "work". by that i mean, will kill COMMON bac, not viruses. why ever you ask us and not a doc, not my biz. but you can call from a pay phone to an "ask a nurse" type thing at local hospitals.
better safe than sorry.
no, it will not remove nail polish.
luck to you.
You don't have to heat it, rubbing alcohol should be enough but to be safe, heat it, and no, rubbing alcohol wont take off nailpolish. I hope you aren't doing something stupid.
Rubbing alcohol will sterilize if you leave it dry...kills germs by dehydrating them. Shouldn't remove nail polish.
Its not good practise to pop blisters - it allows a path for bacteria into your body, and may become infected. Leave the blister alone! It didn't do anything to you!
