What kind of bugs are in my bed?! And how on earth do I get rid of them?

Question:
Plz help! I have found bugs in my bed (so far, only on the sheet), but I have no clue what kind. So far, I have only seen them on the sheets. They jump 1/2 cm when poked lightly. They are black (or a VERY dark brown). I sometimes get itchy bites that last for a while (no particular area, it seems randomized), but there is no bullseye pattern to the bite (and it is just ITCHY, no pain). But they're not just in the bed - in clothing too, and I even saw one on my budgie! I looked up mites, bed bugs and fleas, but nothing fits the description. What kind of bugs are they? And how on earth can I get rid of them?

Answers:
Boy . . . are you sure they're not bed bugs? Have you been on vacation recently where you may have stayed in a hotel that was infected with the little critters? Otherwise, if you have pets that go outdoors, it COULD be fleas. They're a real dark brown and hop around when you touch them. But they can jump a whole lot more than 1/2 cm. You can also bag a couple of the critters and take them to a local exterminator. They may be able to identify it and let you know what will work to get rid of them. Good luck and guard your budgie! ;-)
crabs?.. hell i dunno
do not kill them you idiot. animals have a right to live
oh god, im getting itchy just reading your question.
clean your house, take a shower. If you have a dog give it a bath, wash your sheets, and all your clothes in boiling hot water.
Bed Bugs, and Fumigate! They will bite you!

sounds like bed bugs too me.
I would wash all my clothes and sheets in bleach/color safe bleach and HOT HOT HOT WATER, Throw the Mattress out. If you cant afford to Go to target and get a vinyl bed cover, if you have carpets, shampoo them, look for a good cleaner. Also, if you have a dog or cat check them and dont let them sleep with you. Check for ticks,Lice, Bed bugs, Fleas(I think it's this) It's the only thing I know that jumps. Good luck
Could they be lice? What state are you in and how big are the bugs?
ok one the bugs are called TICKS and Brad Paisey was right some1 needs to cheeck you HOUSE for ticks the hate peanut butterso if you cover yourself in peanut butter
um...there probably baby cockroaches!!
get a sample put it in a baggie and take it down to the local nursery(plant) ,or out to the extension office and see if they can identify it. If you are not able to do that go the library and look at the insect books and see if you can find out there. You may be able to look it on the Internet and find what you are looking for. Once you find it you can get information on how to get rid of them.
with out a doubt they are flee's. if they are on your bird and biting you they are parasite's. and they jump yup they are flee's.

what you need to do is have you house bombed. what this is an exterminator will have to be called in they spray or throw this canister in to your home with closed window and vent's and such. youll have to stay out for 1 day 24 hour's. then you should be set. it's not just a bed problem so this will have to be done. and your bird will have to be seen by a vet. to get debugged. if it were a bed problem you could jsut get a new bed or if it is winter you can wrap up your bed and keepit out door's for 3 day's the bug's will die from the freezing cold then bring it back in. but then you'll might have problem's with allergen's. but get your home bombed
