Is it bad to leave a blister alone? What happens?

Question:
I know it doesnt hurt to pop but it hurts afterwards, would it be bad to just leave it alone?

Answers:
You're SUPPOSED to leave blisters alone. A blister develops to protect what's underneath it. Don't pop it. If it pops accidentally, or on its own, cover it with a band-aid with antibiotic ointment on it to prevent infection.
eventually the blister would just break open on it's own. i was always told to just leave them alone. but i usually take a needle and pop them to help relieve the pressure. i don't think it'll hurt you to leave it alone. according to yahoo health you should leave the blister alone and let it heal on it's own.
I highly suggest that you leave it alone. The fluid will receede back into the body if left alone. If you puncture it there is a change that it will become infected and yes it will hurt. Protect the blister and it will go away in short time.
Leave it alone. It protects the skin from infection. After a few days, you can take a sterile needle & puncture just the blister so that the fluid leaks out, but leave the old skin on. It will gradually dry up so that it can be peeled off.
Yes leave it alone, but to prevent popping wear a bandade. Change often over time. When it pops put antibiotic on it.
