Is drinking pineapple juice good for when you just had surgery?

Question:
I heard this on Dr phil, it suppose to heal the wounds faster

Answers:
i would stay away from acidic products..
Yes. It is full of antioxidants and helps the body recuperate after surgery.
I had surgery in Feb. and I was drinking lots of juice for the same reason. My doctor told me to stop because it is too hard on your stomach so soon after surgery b/c of the acids. She said to drink Gatorade instead.
I'd lay off for a while anyway. Are you taking any meds? Be careful because acidic drinks can neutralize some meds.
you should check with your pharmacist to make sure you are ok to have citrus juices with any medications you are taking.

if there is no problem with medicines, and it doesnt cause you stomach upset, I dont think a glass would hurt. I wouldnt drink lots of it, since it is very acidic, and has a ton of sugar also, and might be rough on the stomach. But maybe a glass a day would be good.
