Is this custom for a physician to weigh and measure you upon visits?

Question:
This physician always weighs and measures my height whenever I see him. I'm a grown adult, not a growing teenager or child. My weight has always remained relatively stable. I saw him for issues such as a hurt finger, the flu or viral infections.

When I visit this other physician he doesn't weigh and measure me.

Answers:
Mine always weighs me, but I got no idea why he needs to recheck your height.
Yes this is common proceedure.
My physician does the same thing no matter why I go. I am assuming it is because most things that you go to the doctor for require medication and in order to prescribe it they need to know your current weight and height for correct doseage.
They have to because if they have to prescribe something they need to know your stats so they know the right amonut to give you.

Hope this helps.
Yes, it is a very common procedure...and I have never seen a doctor that charges for it yet...so I don't know why it is a problem. There are reasons why they do it...such as the right doseage.
