It sounds kind of like swimmers ear, which I hear iPod users getting lately. It comes from taking a shower, not drying the ears well, then cramming the ear buds in, leaving you prone to infection. I would go to the doctor. It is a quick check; he / she will look in your ear, confirm it, write you up a prescription for ear drops (antibiotics) and in 10 days, good as new!
could be an infection.
i would go to the doc asap tomorrow, because if it is the kind of infection i get, it only gets worse.
if it is at all related to your ipod, you might need to find some way to clean/disinfect the ear plugs. like with clorox or something.
Try a warm water bottle pressed up against the ear. Lay off the I-POD for awhile and when you do go back to it, listen to it on LOW ..remember, you have very sensitive cilia in your ear that help you hear and you need those for the rest of your life and your I-POD on anything other than LOW is damaging those cilia. If the warm compress doesnt help, go see a doc as soon as possible.
my friend told me this
get a damp paper towel
heat it for like 30 sec in the microwave
put it in a plastic cup
cup it to your ear
never tried it but she said it works
pain relievers will work otherwise
feel better
apply a warm compress to your ear. u make this by heating a wet but not soaked wash cloth in the microwave on high 20 secs and let sit for 1 minute and it will be warm enough to lay on the ear. have u been swimming lately? U could have swimmers ear, and the whole duct could be infected. try rinising your ear out with 1 tsp distilled white vinegar and 1 tsp of peroxide and mix together and soak a cotton ball and place in ear, remove cotton ball after 1 minute and drain the mixture out ear on to a towel, repeat every 4 hours till u can see your doc tommorow. if the pain gets worse u may need to go to the er and make sure your ear drum doesnt bust...
