When you crack/pop your joints it is air popping and moving in the liquid-y stuff that's between your joints or moving ligaments. As long as it isn't hurting you when it happens, its ok and normal. :)
I know when my back gets stiff from sitting or standing too long, it helps to crack it. It always makes it feel a little loose and less tense.
When I was younger I broke my ankle and sprained it several times after that. Now, every time I move it and walk, it always makes a popping sound thats caused by the overstretched ligaments. It doesn't hurt, but it is annoying at times.
