I cant ever hear my alarm clock?
Question:

Considering you mention camp, I imagine you're not too old to have natural hearing loss. so that leaves only a couple options.
1) Your body is on a set schedule (as everyone's is), and it's possible that your body's schedule is such that when you are supposed to get up, your body is in it's deepest point of sleep. I actually had this happen a couple times, and I actually heard my alarm clock in my dream, but I couldn't figure out what it was... it was kind of funny.
Simple solution for this... go to bed earlier (try 30-60 minutes at first to see if it works).
If it's tough for you to get to sleep earlier, make sure to avoid sweets and caffeine (pop) for at least 3 hours before you want to go to sleep.
2) Do you have an iPod, CD player, or something that you listen to with ear buds?
Since I'm willing to bet the answer is yes (as most people under the age of 30 do), it's very likely you've had the volume turned up too loud for too long. Maybe you've only had it up a little louder to drown out some other noise... but it's enough.
Having volumes even lower than you may be able to feel that you can hear clearly may be able to permanently damage your ear drum and the delicate tissues and bones inside your ears.
If your body is on a good cycle, you will wake at the same time every day. Maybe you can have someone shake you awake. Or make a contraption that will drip water on your head when it's time to get up. There has to be something not audio you can use.
