Cortisone shot in the foot?

Question:
I had a cortisone shot in the top of the foot several years ago for a neuroma. It felt great the first night and the second day, then the 3rd day ouch ouch and ouch. Apparently there is so much liquid in the shot and the foot is all bone that it has nowhere to absorb. I was on the couch for 2 full days. Now I am having one in my ankle, on the inside of the foot below the ball of the ankle. Can I expect the same thing. Want to plan it so I don't have to miss work again.

Answers:
If you want to plan it so you don't have to miss work, to be on the safe side, schedule your appointment for a Friday. Secondly, yes,
you can expect a different experience getting the shot in your ankle versus the top of your foot. The medication that is injected will travel to where ever the inflammation is. Plus you have more meat in your ankles. Its still painful, but it'll feel better than the foot procedure. Good luck
you can probably expect the same thing. you might not bee seening a proper orthopedist for these operations, though, so ask around. I was offered a cortisone shot for the bottom of my foot, but declined because I couldn't find someone who'd do it right.
