Hi,
It is hard to say what exactly is going on- If you have overworked it, it could be a pulled muscle- try some over-the-counter aleve or motrin for a few days. Another possibility is that the pain is actually coming from your back- if it is a "shooting" pain the runs down your leg and possible to your foot, (called sciatica or radiculopathy). Since it seems like it only hurts you when you bend over or try to use it, a pulled muscle is more likely. Try some moist heat on your leg - if it does not get better, I would certainly make an appointment with doctor so he can determine where the pain is coming from. Good Luck.

Don't bend it !
Go to the doctor to get it checked out. Why is it hurting? Did you injure it or is it something non-injury related? Either way, if it persists, you really should get it checked out. Could be something as simple as getting the right nutrients in your body, being out of shape, could have injured a ligament, etc. Hard to say without assessing the knee.
Good luck.
Sounds like a muscle spasm.
Try the "RICE" protocol:
Rest the limb, don't move it.
Ice packs can help on the location of the pain
Compression on the area of pain, gently of course
Elevate the hurting limb. Lay back and put the leg on a couple pillows. (That's worked wonders for my leg pain that I get during sleep.)
If it persists, use the MD protocol. I.e., see your doctor.
What's that stuff called? Alieve, it works on my cranky knee
try watching "The Secret" and read about spiritual or mind therapy
