Rotater cuff tear how long does it take to heal?

Hi- I HOPE you have sought medical treatment for this. A rotator cuff tear WILL NOT heal on it's own. A doctor will have to do Surgery, and then the post-op time will be instructed by the Surgeon. DO NOT NEGLECT THIS. IT IS SERIOUS STUFF! I have worked in the Medical Field for over 20 years, been in ER, and a Rotator Cuff Tear is something that needs treated properly. Hope this helped. Good luck to you!
If it is torn you have to have surgery to repair it. It won't heal on it's own. If it is not torn then it all depends. Mine was not torn but it took about a year and half before most of the tendonitis went away. If you truely have a tear surgery is the only thing that will heal it.
Depends on how bad the tear is. This is something your doctor will have to tell you. A little tear can sort of heal up on its own by following medical directions. A big tear needs surgery. It's done through little tiny incisions. Some sports types are back in a month, less able and less intensively treated ordinary people take six weeks to 12 weeks to recover from surgery. If you work you might ask to see if there is light duty available. Below is a helpful website to give you more info.
Those answers give good information. I want to add that if there's a complete tear, it means a tendon has pulled from its attachment. If it isn't repaired, it will gradually contract away until surgical repair is either not as satisfactory or impossible. Some elderly people decide not to have the surgery and you can live with the symptoms, but if they get tired of it, repair may then be impossible. I know someone this happened to.
