Broken Ankle?

Question:
Ok i was at a lacrosse tournament and i got laid out trying to get a goal and my ankle went the wrong way and the bone liked snapped or something like that and i needed surgery to get it fixed. My dad told me what happened cause i blacked out because of the pain. I got back from the hospitol today after 3 days and my ankle kills...it hurts really bad like i want to rip my whole foot off and the pain killers dont do much. Im 15 and if you can help by pain relief remedies or something like that would be great cause i cant sleep with this pain. Thx.

I would suggest ice, elevation, rest, and take ibuprofen along with your pain meds. If your pain does not get any better I would call and talk to your doctor and ask for any other suggestions because your pain is still out of control. They may give your stronger pain meds or give you some more ideas for pain control. I know how bad pain can be! I'm 15 and have had 6 major surgeries in the past year and a half, along with a chronic pain condition so I know how bad pain can be. Good luck!
Didn't they give you anything for the pain? If not, take Advil then Tylenol, alternating every two hours (ie Advil at 12, Tylenol at 2, Advil at 4, etc). Make sure to eat, and also have your ankle elevated. Feel better!
R rest
I ice
C compression
E elevation
Ow! Sounds awful. Ask your parents, now, to call the doctor. Even if your surgeon is not available, there is somebody 'on call.' Two things come to mind. If you are casted and having lots of swelling, you can damage your foot for life. If you are splinted and there is room for the swelling, it is not so dangerous. Also, you should not have to endure this degree of pain. The doctor can order a stronger pain killer and your parents can go to an all night pharmacy to get it. Keep your foot up, like on a sofa or the bed, don't let it dangle.
I'm sorry you are having such pain. There is relief available. Insist on better care. Take care of yourself, don't overdo.
Good luck.
Only tips I can give are;

1) Keep your ankle elevated above your waist.

2) Asking out the pharmacist what other pain medication you can take that won't interact with your prescription medication.

Failing that, head back to the hospital, and explain to them. I had similar problems, it turned out that my ankle hadn't actually been set properly, the cast had a lump in it that was applying pressure to the point that had been set.
awwwwwwww poor u how sad just put ice on it and everything will get better soon i hope u feel better
