I would suggest putting your feet up and elevating them as much as possible (make sure your feet are elevated above your heart), try some ice, and ibuprofen, and if it does not get any better I would suggest seeing a doctor because a more serious condition may be causing it.
You need to go to the doctor, or emergency room. you are having edema very bad and this is not healthy for you, this means your heart may not be pumping hard enough to get the fluids off your body, or could mean kidney problems. Please get to the Doctor ASAP.
the best thing to do is put your feet up...don't work so hard! Take it easy for a little while, while you recuperate
You sound like me. Your swollen ankles means you are retaining fluid. Mine was from too much salt intake and being constantly on the go. Try to slow down if you can and watch your salt intake. Salt is in everything. My doctor put me on a diuretic that I take about three times a week and I have my ankles back. You can always talk to your doctor about it and perhaps get some help from him. Good luck!
I agree that your first stop should be at the doctor's office. Swollen ankles at your age are usually caused by circulation problems. Swollen ankles can have a variety of causes, but they all have one thing in common. The sooner that the cause is identified and treated, the less damage to your circulatory system occurs. Some things that you can do to help decrease the swelling are to wear support hose available at most pharmacies (helps to keep the swelling down and helps with venous return to the heart), elevate your feet several times a day (gives you an excuse to rest a little too = p ), and watch your salt intake (you need some in your diet, but too much will make you retain water, leading to swollen ankles). The most important thing that you can do is to be evaluated by a doctor, and follow the doctor's recommendations.
Are you a diabetic? My grandma is and her legs and ankles both swell..See a doctor.
